Connect Discord
Connecting Discord lets your community use slash commands, take slot requests and get hunt announcements in your server.
1. Open Requests & Bot
Sign in to stream8.io and open Requests & Bot. Find the Discord section in the settings panel.
2. Connect and invite the bot
Click Connect Discord and approve the connection. Pick the server you want the bot in — you'll need permission to add bots to that server.
3. Use slash commands
The bot adds slash commands to your server, such as /sr for slot requests and the economy commands (/work, /crime, /rob, balance and banking). If the commands don't appear straight away, reopen the Chat bot page and refresh the connection — Discord can take a minute to register new commands.
4. Set up hunt announcements
Choose your announcements channel in the Discord settings. When you start a new hunt, stream8.io posts it there automatically. Make sure the bot is allowed to Send Messages in that channel — if it isn't, the announcement fails and you'll see the reason on the hunt page.
5. Test it
Type /sr followed by a slot name in your server. The bot confirms the request and it appears in your stream8.io queue, just like Kick requests.
If something isn't working
- Blank replies usually mean the request command is switched off in your stream8.io settings — the bot uses your configured command.
- Announcements not posting? Check the bot's permissions in that channel, then try again.
- Commands missing entirely? Reopen the Chat bot page and refresh the Discord connection.
Next: connect Kick or configure your OBS overlays.
