Set up stream alerts
Stream alerts pop up on your overlay when viewers follow, subscribe, gift subs or send Kicks. You choose the triggers, the animation, and your own image and sound.
Before you start
Alerts fire from live Kick events, so connect Kick first and switch the chat bot on. If your Kick account was connected before alerts existed, toggle the connection off and on once so the new events are registered.
1. Add the Stream alert widget
Open OBS Studio, pick your scene and add the Stream alert widget. Place it where you want the pop-up to appear — centre-top works well.
2. Choose your triggers
Switch each alert type on or off: follows, subscriptions, gifted subs and Kicks. Only the events you enable will pop up.
3. Pick an animation
Choose how the alert enters: fade, slide, bounce, zoom or no animation. Set how long each alert stays on screen.
4. Add your image and sound
Upload a custom image or GIF (png, jpg, webp or gif) and a sound (mp3, wav or ogg) — up to 10 MB each. Your media is private to your workspace and only plays on your own overlay links. Use the volume slider to keep alerts comfortable under your game audio.
5. Test it
Click Test alert in the widget settings to fire a sample alert in the studio — check the animation, image and sound before you go live.
Want a running list too?
Add the Alert list widget to show recent follows, subs, gifts and Kicks as a list on your overlay, with options for how many to show and when old ones fade.
